Why is playing an instrument and being part of this select Wind Ensemble important to you? How does it, if at all, differ from your past and present experiences playing in a group? What makes it unique? What do you like about it? What should other students prepare for if they wish to audition for this group? Any words of advice you can offer? Tell about your vision of the future of this group. Why is music important?

It is important to me because it provides me with a chance to perform wonderful music that's challenging. This group is very different from my band at school. The Wind Ensemble is so much better. I like that no one competes against each other and that we play very well.
If you want to audition you have to know your scales flawlessly. PRACTICE!!!! Practicing is the biggest thing to do if you want to succeed on your instrument.
I feel like we are going to be the best ensemble in the history of Windsor.
Music is important because it is a good thing to be involved with. Studies have shown that people who play instruments have better concentration and get better grades in school then those who do not play an instrument. If you decide to play an instrument, my advice is to stick with it. Because, if you get into this Select Wind Ensemble, I guarantee you will have fun!

Playing an instrument and being part of this Select Wind Ensemble is important to me because I love to be part of a group and enjoy playing music. This experience differs from my past and present experiences because we play challenging music. Also, being in a group which everyone is talented makes this group unique. I love the different types of music that we play, especially when we play Disney songs.
If other musicians wish to audition for this group, they should realize that they need to be prepared with their music and practice it for every rehearsal. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! In the future, I believe this group will perform in many places and many people will audition to get into it.
MUSIC IS THE SPICE OF LIFE!

I have always loved playing my flute. Playing in the Wind Ensemble is such an accomplishment and it is also great to play with people who know what they are doing.
Everybody in the Wind Ensemble is wants to be in it. Being part of "The Mighty Five" is GREAT! We are so, totally, completely respected. Ha Ha. Just kidding. I love the fact that I can play my best and not have my friends be mad at me. For anyone wanting to audition, good luck! Work tremendously hard and try your best. I hope this group does well at the competition on June 5th.
Music is and always will be important... Why?? It just is!! Oh, Carpe Diem. That's my little saying. Figure it out for yourself.

It is an honor to be in Wind Ensemble because you had to audition and only the best got in. In sixth grade school band, many people don't know their parts so we have to keep stopping. Here, everybody is a good musician and everyone gets to play more. Also, it is more challenging. We get to play concerts outside of school which makes us more noticed. I like this group because we get challenging music and have a fun time.
Kids who want to audition should be prepared to practice and have a good attitude towards learning. I think that once we have been together longer we will improve as we will be getting used to playing together as an ensemble.
Music brings enjoyment to the musicians and the audience.
